Thus, the BIG BLACK Campout was born in hopes of bringing #blackcampers and first time campers together for an EPIC experience on our newly acquire 96.71 acres of land. (Sorry, but we will never get tired of saying 96.71 acres of land 🤷🏾♀️😁 ) And, we hope that you will grab your family, your camping crew, that one adventurous homie and roadtrip or RV on down during Labor Day Weekend, because what else do you have better to do?
Yes, #blackpeopledocamp and first-timers that may have searched #campingwhileblack on Twitter’s top posts are probably concerned about being greeted by some level of systemic racism while enjoying the great outdoors.
This is what #DiversifyOutdoors is aiming to help break down. This is why an event on private-black owned land like the BIG BLACK Campout is important. It provides an opportunity for seasoned outdoorsy Black folx to share space (from 6 ft away and with masks on off course) with the newbies that could use some support and encouragement to get comfortable outdoors.
When you consider the fact that most outdoors retailers have few if any BIPOC on their advertisements, social media, and websites, you would think Black people don’t belong in nature. But we do! It’s essential for our health, and in the age of a pandemic it has immunity boosting principles along with mental health benefits too. Don’t believe me just do a quick google search on benefits of outdoors, we’ll wait…

Wow, I was recently telling my family and a few friends something to this effect. I see all these millionaires black athletes and entertainers kneeling and rising a fist while doing nothing to solve the problem. My thoughts were with all the land in this country, they could come together and buy thousands of acres of land a build a whole state for blacks only, producing millions of jobs and independence for people of color. They need to put their money where there mouths are.
No they cry on TV kneel at games and go to the lily white neighborhoods and leave the problem unsolved. This way the blacks will no longer has to worry about systemic racism they can be free and at peace. I commend you for such an idea, so hit those rich black up to get business and open their pockets instead of hiding behind their gated communities and their mouths.
Most of the Black millionaires+ have absolutely zero Black consciousness (aside from how they can make money), and most of them have white money managers and investors who naturally have zero (if not hostile) Black consciousness. That leaves only a small percentage of millionaires that do have a Black consciousness and they are afraid to make that public for fear of losing their money stream(s). Bottom Line: There are very few truly “proud and out” Black millionaires+. Don’t expect any public start -up help whatsoever from Black millionaires until or unless they get the stamp of approval from the white power structure.

You are so right it is time for us to totally separate and teach our own children, we need our own police dept, hospitals also I am going to do midwife training to be able to deliver our babies. So we don’t have to worry anymore that harm is being done to them and the moms. These are much need in our new black owned communities, TIME TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!
